Your privacy
What this site collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated 23 October 2026.
Reading the Digest
You can read every edition without an account. To see which pages are read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you or following you across other sites. Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
The site remembers a few choices in your browser only, such as light or dark theme and how you view the archive. These never leave your device and you can clear them in your browser settings.
Newsletter
Subscribing takes you to Substack, which sends the newsletter and holds the subscriber list. Substack’s privacy policy applies there. You can unsubscribe from any email.
Signing in and contributing
Contributors and editors sign in with an emailed link; we store your email address to let you in. If you send a pitch, draft, resource or opportunity, we keep what you send and your contact details so an editor can reply and, if it is published, credit you. Our database runs on Supabase.
Advertising
The site does not show ads at the moment. If that changes, this section will explain what is used and how to opt out, before any ad appears.
Sponsors and partners
Sponsors and partners do not receive any personal information about readers. Links to their sites are marked as sponsored; their own policies apply once you are there.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you through the contact details on the About page.
